How to Recognize the Signs of Teen Depression and Anxiety

  • 3. Avoidance Behaviors: Teens with anxiety may engage in avoidance behaviors to cope with their fears or worries. They may avoid certain places, activities, or social situations that trigger their anxiety, leading to social isolation or withdrawal.

  • 4. Difficulty Sleeping: Anxiety can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or experiencing restful sleep. Teens may toss and turn at night, experience racing thoughts, or wake up feeling unrefreshed.
