Katherine Ottofy LCSW
Katherine Ottofy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering both online and in person individual therapy for college students, and adults of all ages, with experience in treating trauma, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, worry, grief, depression, low self-esteem, communication struggles, and stressors of everyday life.
Hello! My name is Katherine Ottofy. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here at Aspire Counseling. I want to commend you for taking these steps toward your healing journey, and feel honored to be able to participate. I have a passion for encouraging and helping others. No two people are alike, and I want to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to go.
My Approach to Therapy
I take a client-centered approach where I put you, the client, first, and using Evidence-Based practices, assist you in reaching your goals. I am fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment for PTSD reduction/trauma recovery, and anxiety management. I am trained in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) treatment for OCD. I’ve participated in an intensive continuing education workshop for CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), which is used for PTSD reduction/trauma recovery. Additional modalities I utilize are CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) informed treatment, grounding and mindfulness, psycho-education, and coping skill building. I feel compassion, empathy, and validation are important parts of the counseling process and something I also strive to incorporate in my therapy practice. I utilize supportive listening and provide a safe, judgment-free space for healthy emotional and self-expression. Whatever struggle you may be having, I try and meet you where you are and collaboratively help you work toward achieving your treatment goals.

Professional Background and Clinical Experience
I’ve had the pleasure of working at Aspire Counseling since October 2022. I have been in the mental health field for many years. Before Aspire Counseling, I worked 11 years as an Outpatient Therapist/ Clinical Provider with a community behavioral health agency, and several years before that, at an inpatient forensic mental health hospital. I earned my Bachelor’s in both Biology and Psychology from the University of Missouri in 2000, and earned my Master’s of Social Work, also from Mizzou, in 2006. I’ve been a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2009.
On a personal note, I’ve been married for over 19 years, and have three fur-babies. I love being outdoors, but also treasure being able to snuggle on the couch to relax and watch a good movie.
