With each stage in life, we are faced with new challenges. Sometimes new challenges may be too difficult to deal with alone and other times, we carry old problems with us. In order to live a happier, healthier life, we need to address those problems head on.

About Me

Therapy is more than just the approach a therapist uses in session. It’s important to form a strong therapeutic relationship to make therapy even more effective. So how do you know if I’m the right therapist for you? I appreciate the use of humor as a small dose of medicine to help heal wounds. Listening and putting you first is my top priority. Change is not easy and it doesn’t happen if YOU don’t make any changes. It takes a lot more than talking to someone in an office once a week to heal and improve your life. Therefore, I’m not afraid to push, ask hard questions, make you think hard about things going on your life, and make you sit with discomfort.

Counseling Experience

With years of experience as a high school teacher and now as a counselor, I have experience working with adolescent problems and building relationships with teens. As a first generation immigrant and military spouse, I understand the hardships of acculturating and assimilating into a different culture or community as well as the grieving and loses that come with moving. I also have a lot of experience working with clients going through divorce or separation as well as foster and adoption issues, loss, cultural challenges, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and coping skills. I have worked with clients that only speak Spanish and am accepting of all sexual orientations.

My Approach to Therapy

My goal is to provide a safe, judgement-free space for you.

Through use of Cognitive Behavioral, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and DBT, I work to empower my clients with tools and insights needed to deal with their current and future problems. You will be given homework to take what you learn out of the office and implement it into your daily life. We will set measurable and realistic goals to improve your mental health.
