If you are a beginner looking to incorporate house plants into your living space, it is wise to start with plants that are relatively easy to care for. Here's a list of house plants that are known for being hardy and requiring low maintenance.

Snake Plant (Sansevieria)

Snake plants are great for beginners because they can tolerate a range of lighting conditions and don’t require frequent watering. They are also known for purifying the air.

Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)

Pothos is a popular choice due to its trailing vines and heart-shaped leaves. It can thrive in a variety of lighting conditions and only needs to be watered when the soil feels dry. Plus, there’s many different varieties of Pothos so you can get multiple varieties!

Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum)

Spider plants are adaptable to a variety of environmental conditions and are relatively easy to care for. They produce offshoots which can be easily propagated.

ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

This plant is known for its waxy, shiny leaves and is very drought tolerant. It can survive in low light conditions and requires infrequent watering.

Succulents and Cacti

These plants are excellent for beginners because they require very little water. Place them in a bright spot, and water sparingly.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)

Peace lilies are relatively easy to care for. They need moderate light and watering only when the soil is dry. They also have the added benefit of blooming indoors.

Aloe Vera

This plant not only looks good but has medicinal properties. It’s a type of succulent, so it needs minimal watering and prefers bright light.

While these plants are great for beginner plant owners, even the low-maintenance plants require some light care! Make sure to check the soil for moisture levels, and check to see what level of lights your plant needs.
