Nature can be therapeutic in many ways, and spending time outdoors is great for mental health. So if you’re feeling stressed or in need of a boost, it might be time for a relaxing day outside!

Missouri has many beautiful parks that are perfect for spending a sunny day outdoors. Whether you're wanting to go for a walk, have a picnic, or just relax in the sun. These parks in and around Kansas City, Missouri are a great place to unwind!

Park #1: Wilbur Young Park in Blue Springs

Wilbur Young Park is a large, 40-acre park in Blue Springs, Missouri. It's right across the street from Blue Springs South High School. Once you get to the park, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. In addition to a playground, there are a few soccer fields, tennis courts, softball fields, a basketball court, and even disc golf! There is also a small pond for fishing too. This is a perfect place to come if you want to spend a day outdoors, play a game with a friend, and try something new.

Park #2: Charles David Hartman Memorial Park in Lee’s Summit

The Charles David Hartman Memorial Park is located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. It’s located on Pryor Road which is between 3rd Street and Low View Road. This park has a lovely nature trail with views of a scenic creek too. It has a playground for smaller children along with a new trailhead to the Rock Island Trail. If you’re a cyclist, there is even a bike repair station and a bottle-filling water fountain to keep you hydrated. This park is a great place for getting outside and being active!

Park #3: Osage Trails Park in Lee’s Summit

Osage Trails Park is another park located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. It has an open field of greenery that’s perfect for a picnic or watching the clouds. There is also a pavilion which is a great spot to sit and journal or read a good book. If you have children, there's a playground that’s perfect for kids too. This is a great spot to come if you want to relax in a quiet environment without too many people.

Park #4: Jacob L. Loose Park in Kansas City

Jacob L. Loose Park is located in Kansas City, Missouri and it has a lot to offer its visitors. There's a beautiful rose garden, a scenic pond, a fun playground, and even a spray park! There are also plenty of paved paths for walking and enjoying the views. This is a great park to enjoy beautiful scenery, play on the playground, or have a picnic. However, if you're a biker, this park may not be for you. Somedays, this park can be a bit too busy for biking because of the number of people. But it’s a great park to come to and see something new!

Park #5: Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park in Kansas City

The last park on our list is the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park. It's also located in Kansas City, Missouri, and is part of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Fortunately, the park is free, so you don’t need to worry about purchasing tickets. This park has over 84 sculptures for you to enjoy as you walk around. It's a great place to come if you want to spend a day walking and admiring art. It’s perfect for adults and children too since it always has something interesting to see. While it can get busy from time to time, the park is very spacious so other people there will not interfere with your experience. In the summer, there is also a free yoga class on the lawn!
