Hi, I’m Madison — a therapist passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, safety, and support. I specialize in working with children of all ages and young adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, or behavioral concerns. Whether it's a child struggling with emotional regulation or a teenager working through complex feelings, I provide a safe and affirming space where healing can begin. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness practices tailored for children, and a strong trauma-informed lens. I believe every person is unique, and therapy should honor their individuality. That’s why I also incorporate a person-centered approach—empowering young people to be the experts of their own lives and decisions, while I support them with tools, insight, and encouragement along the way.
Why I Chose This Work
I’ve always felt called to help people, though I wasn’t always sure what that would look like. I became a therapist because I genuinely love building meaningful relationships and being part of someone’s growth and healing. I'm fortunate to have had incredible mentors—both personally and professionally—who have shaped me into the therapist I am today. Now, I’m here to offer that same support to you and your family.
My Experience
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master’s in Social Work from Samford University. Over the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings—including schools, a university counseling center, and as a therapist for children placed in enhanced foster care. These diverse experiences have deepened my passion for working with children of all ages and have brought a strong sense of creativity to the therapeutic services I offer. I regularly incorporate various forms of play into my sessions, blending them with emotional regulation strategies and trauma-informed care to meet each child where they are. In addition to my work with children, I am also passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate major life transitions. This stage of life often brings a wide range of emotions and challenges, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you work through them.
A Safe Space for All
I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive, non-judgmental, and welcoming to all individuals and families. Your beliefs, identity, and values will be respected and celebrated in our work together.
